Andalucia has so much to offer the holiday maker. check out the Pictures of the Lecrin valley. Whether an individual is seeking solitude and just wants to chill out or for individuals who want a more active holiday. The Lecrin valley is ideally situated with the City of Granada a short drive away to the north, a city full of character and with Spain's number one tourist attraction the Alhambra palace. The Costa Tropical coast line is a short drive to the south, a coast line full of coves and beautiful settings.

As you arrive at the coast road the first thing you see is the salobrena castle sat on top of the rock with the white washed village houses below it. The next town is Almunecar that has so much history dating back before the roman's arrived which you can read about by going to our explore page and clicking on to Almunecar. Explore the charm of Almunecar as you weave in an out of the small corridor of path ways you can window shop. This town has a fascinating history. You can feel the cosmopolitan atmosphere as you walk along the sea front looking at the palm trees. You will have to try to decide which bar to sit and have a drink, while you soak in the beautiful views watching the sunset. It's a rare thing to find a place that has so much to offer that can cater for everyone. Those with families and those that want the peace and tranquil to relax. This Costa Tropical stretch of coastline is so beautiful and has it's own micro climate so benefits with a great deal of good weather.

A taste of real Spain

As mentioned earlier for those that want to be more active their are various activities you can do from hiking in the Granada and Lecrin valley region to paragliding / parapenting near Almunecar on the Costa Tropical. You can do painting courses with local artist Jim Park a scotsman who has travelled around the world before settling down in this beautiful area. Jim has found a location that has inspired his paintings that have vibrant colours and many of his Spanish paintings now have pride and place in peoples homes who have wanted that something special to give their homes that elegance.
The lecrin valley also has fishing in the lake Bezna where you can catch carp and black bass. There are other lakes all with in an easy drive where you can also catch barbel or there is always sea fishing of the beaches. During the months of December through to April you have skiing in the Sierra Nevada, europes second highest ski resort. There is the Almunecar water park as well as climbing and absialing in the area. For those that would like a taste of real andrenalin you can also do skydiving in Spain but you need to be prepared to set a side a full day as the drop zone is four hours away. Those that have taken the leap from 14,000 feet will tell you, well worth it.
